Kinetics Model SRH Spring-Neoprene Hangers combine high-deflection steel springs with elastomer-in-shear neoprene inserts to isolate both low-frequency vibration and high-frequency noise from suspended HVAC and MEP services. Available in 1″, 2″, and 4″ deflection ranges, SRH hangers are suitable for acoustic and vibration control projects across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.
Kinetics Noise Control Inc. Products
Kinetics Model SRH Vibration Isolation Hangers are engineered spring-neoprene hangers designed to reduce the transmission of both noise and vibration from suspended mechanical equipment, fans, pumps, ductwork, and piping systems. Each hanger consists of a freestanding, large-diameter, laterally stable steel spring installed in series with an elastomer-in-shear insert, assembled into a stamped or welded steel hanger bracket.
The SRH Spring-Neoprene Hanger is recommended where the minimum static deflection requirement exceeds 0.4″ / 10 mm and both high-frequency and low-frequency vibration isolation are required. The spring element helps control low-frequency vibration, while the neoprene insert helps reduce noise transmission that may otherwise occur through all-metal spring hanger assemblies.
All SRH hangers include a high-deflection, color-coded spring element with load transfer plate and a 0.4″ / 10 mm deflection elastomeric isolator with load transfer plate. Properly deflected coils allow support rod misalignment through a 30° arc without short-circuiting. SRH 1″ and 2″ hangers also feature Kinetics’ patented No-Short self-centering spring cap, which helps keep the rod and washer centered in the spring cap.
Model SRH Spring-Neoprene Hangers are commonly used for suspended mechanical equipment, low-speed suspended fans, in-line fans, cabinet fans, pumps, ductwork, and piping near mechanical equipment rooms. They can also be used in high sound transmission loss ceiling suspension systems where acoustic isolation is required.
For MEP consultants, acoustic consultants, HVAC contractors, and project developers in the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region, SRH Spring-Neoprene Hangers provide a technically reliable solution for vibration isolation in noise-sensitive buildings, mechanical rooms, plantrooms, and infrastructure projects. SRH 1″ and 2″ hangers are available in deflections from 1.20″ to 2.40″ / 30 to 61 mm with capacities from 35 to 3500 lbs / 16 to 1588 kg. SRH 4″ hangers are available in deflections from 4.09″ to 4.40″ / 104 to 112 mm with capacities from 100 to 3850 lbs / 46 to 1747 kg
Indexed steps in spring cap correspond to standard washer diameters for the appropriate rod diameter. The washer and rod stay centered in the cap. Featured on the 1″ and 2″ SRH Hangers only. Patent No. 5,653,426
Vibration isolators for suspended equipment with minimum static deflection requirement exceeding 0.4″ (10 mm), and where both high and low frequency vibrations are to be isolated, shall be hangers consisting of a laterally stable spring in series with an elastomer-in-shear insert complete with load transfer plates and assembled in a stamped or welded steel bracket.
The bracket shall be finished with an polyester powder coating. The manufacturer shall provide independent laboratory testing showing that the bracket with this finish has endured a minimum of 1,000 hours of exposure to salt spray fog testing per ASTM B117 without signs of corrosion.
The elastomer insert shall be molded from oil-resistant compounds and shall be color coded to indicate load capacity and selected to operate within its published load range.
The spring element shall have a minimum lateral stiffness of 1.0 times the rated vertical stiffness.
Springs shall be color coded or otherwise identified to indicate load capacity.
The hanger bracket shall be designed to carry a 500% overload without failure and to allow a support rod misalignment through a 30° arc without metal-to-metal contact or other short circuit.
The 1″ and 2″ hanger brackets shall incorporate spring caps with indexed steps which correspond to the washer diameter of appropriately sized hanger rod to keep the rod centered in the spring cap and reduce rod misalignment. The spring caps are protected under U.S. patent number 5,653,426.
Isolation hangers shall be selected by the manufacturer for each specific application to comply with deflection requirements as shown on the Vibration Isolation Schedule or as indicated on the project documents.
The combination isolation hanger assembly with neoprene insert shall be Model SRH, as manufactured by Kinetics Noise Control, Inc.
