Kinetics Circular Silencers are UAE-made cylindrical sound attenuators designed for HVAC duct systems, fan inlets, fan discharges, AHUs, cooling towers, and industrial ventilation applications. Made by Kinetics, they provide reliable noise control with pressure-tight casing construction, streamlined acoustic core baffles, and configurations suitable for projects across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.
Kinetics Noise Control Inc. Products
Kinetics Circular Silencers are high-performance cylindrical HVAC sound attenuators designed to reduce airborne noise in round duct systems while supporting efficient airflow performance. These circular duct silencers are made in the UAE by Kinetics and are suitable for commercial, institutional, and industrial building services applications where fan noise, air movement noise, and mechanical ventilation noise must be controlled.
Each silencer is constructed with a cylindrical pressure-tight casing and a streamlined acoustic core baffle. The acoustic absorption media is continuous strand fiberglass packed under compression and protected by a minimum 22 ga. or 0.85 mm galvanized perforated steel. The absorptive core baffle is centered within the casing and includes a spun head on the inlet end to reduce entrance pressure loss. The tapered tail of the core baffle is optimally designed for pressure drop control and insertion loss performance.
Kinetics standard circular silencers are available in 10 different types and three standard lengths, providing a total of 30 standard design options to cover a wide range of customer and project requirements. Non-standard variations are also available for special HVAC, MEP, and acoustic design conditions.
Circular Silencer types include Elbow Dissipative, Straight Dissipative, Cross Talk, Reactive No-Fill Elbow and Straight, Axial Cone, Transitional, and Custom silencers. These options allow consultants, acoustic engineers, and MEP contractors to select the most suitable silencer configuration based on duct layout, available space, required insertion loss, airflow velocity, and pressure drop limits.
Silencers are fabricated from G90 galvanized steel as standard. The casing has a minimum thickness of 22 ga. or 0.85 mm for diameters between 12 in. and 24 in. or 305 mm to 610 mm, and 18 ga. or 1.31 mm for diameters greater than 24 in. or 610 mm. All silencers are airtight to a pressure differential of 10 in. Wg.
Insertion loss data is provided for standard silencer construction. For special designs, such as plastic film or glass fiber cloth covering for the acoustic media, customers are advised to consult the local Kinetics representative or refer to the Kinetics web-based silencer selection program. Pressure drop across the silencer increases with silencer length, which provides higher insertion loss. For silencers with a sound-absorbing bullet, higher insertion loss is achieved by reducing the open area of the silencer face area; this constricts airflow and increases pressure drop. Pressure drop data is presented for a silencer inserted in a duct where neither end is near a bend, elbow, or transition.
Available options include blank or drilled iron ring flanges, single or companion flanges, fiberglass cloth or Tedlar film between the acoustic media and perforated interior and bullet shells, lifting lugs for horizontal or vertical orientation, stainless steel type 304 or 316 construction, aluminum construction, and mounting feet.
Kinetics also offers a web-based silencer duct system and acoustical analysis program for engineers worldwide. All Kinetics silencers are backed by independent testing in a NVLAP-accredited laboratory in accordance with ASTM E477-06a and AMCA 1011-03, supporting consultant specifications and project documentation requirements.
