Traditional Fabric-Wrapped Acoustic Wall Panel
HardSide is a traditional acoustical wall panel designed for projects that require strong acoustic absorption, design flexibility, and a refined interior finish. It is used to control reverberant noise problems on interior wall and ceiling applications, supporting better speech clarity, listening comfort, and overall acoustic performance in commercial, education, hospitality, religious, and entertainment spaces.
Engineered Fiberglass Core and Finished Appearance
The panel core is made from 6–7 PCF fiberglass board, with chemically hardened edges for durability. Fabric facing from the FR-701® collection by Guilford of Maine, or factory-approved customer-selected fabric, is stretched over the panel, wrapped, and bonded around the edges to create a crisp finished appearance. Vinyl finishes are also available for selected project requirements.
Flexible Sizes, Thicknesses, and Edge Profiles
HardSide panels can be designed up to 4 ft. x 10 ft., with custom-shaped panels available using angled or contoured perimeter cuts. A 5 ft. x 10 ft. panel option is also available when using 66-inch-wide fabric. Standard thicknesses range from 1 inch to 4 inches, with Square, Bevel, Radius, and Pencil edge treatments listed on the product page; the data sheet also shows a Miter edge option.
Acoustical Performance and Installation Support
HardSide provides sound absorption performance tested per ASTM C-423 using Type A mounting, with NRC values listed from 0.80 to 1.05 on the product page. The data sheet also provides thickness-based frequency absorption values. The product is Class A per ASTM E84 and supports multiple installation methods, including HS clips with construction adhesive, Rotofast snap-on anchors, construction adhesive, Z-clips, factory-installed Z-clips, Velcro, and field modification options for cut-outs and rewrap requirements.
