ICC by Kinetics is a deck-suspended ceiling hanger used to create isolated ceiling systems below concrete structural decks. It is designed for projects that require serious noise control by separating layers of mass, creating a deep airspace, and reducing sound transfer through the ceiling assembly.
Built with one-inch deflection coil springs, ICC supports high-performance acoustic isolation for concrete ceiling applications. Once the gypsum board load compresses the spring, the system creates a minimum 11-inch airspace between the concrete deck and the isolated ceiling, helping improve low-frequency airborne noise and impact noise performance.
The ICC hanger includes a sturdy spacer that secures the spring during installation of the first drywall layer, making installation easier compared with wire-tie-style ceiling hangers. Its channel clip secures standard 16-gauge cold-rolled channel and allows leveling of the ceiling grid system, typically using cold-rolled channel and 7/8-inch drywall furring channel.
ICC is suitable for consultant-led acoustic designs in hotels, residential towers, cinemas, offices, mixed-use developments, mechanical rooms, and noise-sensitive spaces where concrete floor-ceiling separation is required. The product is listed as a concrete ceiling hanger with 12–210 lb capacity, seismic zone capability A–F, tested STC range of 84–94, and tested IIC range of 70–82 depending on the full ceiling/floor assembly.
Kinetics ICC resources include drawings, BIM objects, testing results, submittal documents, installation guidelines, and design/selection guidelines to support acoustic consultants, MEP contractors, architects, and project teams during specification and installation.
