IsoMax by Kinetics is a sound isolation clip system for walls and ceilings, used to create low-cost, space-saving acoustic assemblies with improved noise control performance. It is designed for projects where drywall must be isolated from studs, joists, or structural framing to reduce sound transmission through wall and ceiling constructions.
Space-Saving Wall and Ceiling Noise Control
IsoMax helps designers achieve double-stud-wall-type noise control performance in less space and at a lower cost for wall applications. For ceilings, it is designed to achieve the performance of properly installed resilient channel while reducing the risk of common installation errors.
Reliable Alternative to Resilient Channel
Unlike traditional resilient channel, IsoMax helps prevent accidental short-circuiting caused when installers screw through the resilient leg of the channel into the joist or stud. This is important because hard attachment can reduce the effectiveness of acoustic isolation systems.
Practical Installation for Project Teams
IsoMax clips use flexible snap-on or slide-on installation and allow height adjustment during furring channel installation. The clip accommodates furring channel widths from 2.38″ to 2.75″, bends to accept common furring channel sizes, and does not require the channel to be pinched into place.
Acoustic Design Support
Kinetics lists IsoMax sound test data for wall and ceiling assemblies, including tested STC ratings up to STC 64 depending on the full construction build-up. Available project resources include drawings, BIM objects, testing results, submittal documents, installation guidelines, design guidelines, KWSB2 resources, data sheet, specifications, LEED analysis, DECLARE Red List Free documentation, HPD, SDS, and warranty information.
