Product Description

Durable Perforated Metal Acoustic Panels
KINETICS® KNP Perforated Metal Acoustic Panels are highly durable sound absorbing panels designed to control airborne and reverberant noise in demanding environments. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, KNP panels combine acoustic performance, rugged durability, cleanable surfaces, and a professional metal finish for projects where panels must resist impact, abrasion, or moisture.

Engineered for Reverberant Noise Control
KNP sound absorbing panels are functional and aesthetically pleasing perforated metal acoustic panels used to reduce reverberation time and lower reflected sound. They are primarily designed as absorbers, but can also function as acoustic barriers when a solid back or optional rear backing is added to increase transmission loss. This makes them suitable for acoustic upgrades to existing metal or concrete barriers, industrial spaces, mechanical rooms, and high-activity architectural environments.

Construction and Panel Options
KNP panels are constructed with galvanized steel or aluminum perforated facing, reinforced along the edges with solid channels, and filled with a 2″ thick glass fiber sound absorber encapsulated in a heat-sealed black poly vinyl bag. Panels are available in flat face and V-groove face configurations. KNP-F flat face panels are 2″ thick, while KNP-V V-groove panels are 2-3/4″ thick, with V-grooves running vertically.

Installation Flexibility
KNP Perforated Metal Panels can be attached to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to create a clean, coordinated acoustic treatment pattern. They can also be supplied with perforated material on both sides for use as hanging absorptive baffles. Optional mounting methods include Z-clips, J-channel, Z-channel, offset wall or ceiling mounting, and recessed ceiling channel arrangements, depending on project requirements.

Sizes, Materials, and Finish Options
KNP-F flat face panels are available up to 42″ wide x 120″ high or 114″ wide x 48″ high, with special-order sizes up to 54″ wide x 144″ high or 138″ wide x 60″ high. KNP-V V-groove panels are available up to 36″ wide x 120″ high or 96″ wide x 48″ high, with special-order sizes up to 48″ wide x 144″ high or 132″ wide x 60″ high. KNP-V panels are sized in 6″ increments, with a 12″ minimum panel width. Recommended indoor materials include 22-gauge perforated galvanized or galvannealed steel, or 0.050″ aluminum; recommended outdoor materials include 20-gauge perforated galvanized or galvannealed steel, or 0.063″ aluminum. Panels are built to ±1/8″ tolerances for length, width, and squareness.

Acoustic and Fire Performance
Published acoustical performance for KNP panels includes NRC 0.90, with absorption coefficients of 0.22 at 125 Hz, 0.77 at 250 Hz, 1.12 at 500 Hz, 1.00 at 1000 Hz, 0.78 at 2000 Hz, and 0.57 at 4000 Hz. KNP panels are listed as Class A per ASTM E84. Finish options include factory powder-coat finishes from the POWDURA® RAL Series Super Durable TGIC FREE Polyester Powder Coatings, custom colour matching, or mill/unpainted finish.
