KINETICS® KNP Perforated Metal Acoustic Panels are highly durable acoustical panel absorbers used to control airborne noise and reverberation in demanding environments. They are functional, aesthetically suitable for exposed applications, and designed for spaces where acoustic panels must resist impact, abrasion, corrosion, or moisture.
Perforated Metal Sound Absorption
KNP panels deliver sound absorption across a wide frequency range and are used to reduce reverberation time and reflected sound in noisy spaces. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, making them effective for industrial, environmental, mechanical, recreational, and architectural noise control projects.
Durable Construction for Demanding Areas
KNP panels are constructed with perforated galvanized steel, galvannealed steel where paint is required, or perforated aluminum facing over a glass fiber sound absorber encapsulated in a heat-sealed black poly vinyl bag. Solid channel framing provides panel stability, while the perforated metal face supports durability and acoustic performance.
Flat Face and V-Groove Options
The system is available in KNP-F flat face and KNP-V V-groove face configurations. KNP-F panels are 2″ thick, with standard sizes up to 42″ wide x 120″ high or 114″ wide x 48″ high. Custom oversized KNP-F panels are available up to 54″ wide x 144″ high or 138″ wide x 60″ high.
KNP-V panels are available with a V-groove face, with standard sizes up to 36″ wide x 120″ high or 96″ wide x 48″ high. Custom oversized KNP-V panels are available up to 48″ wide x 144″ high or 132″ wide x 60″ high. V-grooves run vertically, and KNP-V panels are sized in 6″ increments based on each V ridge.
Absorber and Barrier Functionality
Although KNP panels are primarily designed as sound absorbers, they can also act as a barrier when a solid back is added. Optional rear backing can increase transmission loss, making KNP useful for acoustic upgrades to existing metal or concrete barriers. KNP panels may also be faced with perforated material on both sides and used as hanging absorptive baffles.
Installation and Finish Flexibility
KNP acoustic panels can be attached to walls, ceilings, barriers, or other surfaces and arranged to create an organized architectural pattern. Installation options include Z-Clips with L-bottom support angles, Z-Clips with J-Channel, Z-Channel with J-Channel, offset mounting for wall or ceiling use, and ceiling offset mounting with recessed channels. Optional stand-off brackets can increase sound absorption.
KNP perforated metal panels are available with factory powder-coat finish using POWDURA® RAL Series Super Durable TGIC-free polyester powder coatings, color matching, or mill/unpainted finish. Fire test data is listed as Class A per ASTM E84. Published acoustic data includes NRC 0.90 with absorption coefficients of 0.22 at 125 Hz, 0.77 at 250 Hz, 1.12 at 500 Hz, 1.00 at 1000 Hz, 0.78 at 2000 Hz, and 0.57 at 4000 Hz.
