KINETICS® Ovation Acoustical Reflector/Diffuser panels are engineered for large spaces where sound directivity, reflection strength, and the timing of ceiling reflections are critical to the listening experience. Designed for auditoriums, lecture halls, performing arts centers, worship spaces, and music rehearsal rooms, Ovation helps support clearer sound distribution and improved acoustic quality in architectural spaces.
Design & Acoustic Function
Ovation panels are used as overhead acoustical reflector/diffuser elements to guide and diffuse sound reflections from the ceiling area. Panel radiuses and dimensions can be configured to suit acoustic performance requirements, allowing architects and acoustic consultants to coordinate both the acoustic response and the visual design of the space.
Construction & Finish Options
Standard gel coat Ovation panels are constructed with a 1/2″ plywood core and are available in glossy standard finish or optional satin finish. Standard colors or color-match options may be selected to coordinate with the project interior. Gel coat panels are available up to 20′ nominal length along the non-bowed side, with bowing side dimensions up to 9′-4″ for satin finish or 9′-10″ for gloss finish.
Laminate and hardwood veneer Ovation options are available with a 3/4″ core board, up to 20′ nominal length along the non-bowed side and bowing side dimensions up to 9′-11-1/2″. Panels can also be spliced to create continuous widths, with an approximate weight of 3 psf. Optional absorber or mass layer can be added to the back side where required by the acoustic design.
Installation & Project Coordination
Ovation panels are ceiling-suspended with attachment points on steel framing. The panels are shipped flat and bowed in the field. The radius curve is adjusted on site using turnbuckle and cable suspension to meet the architect’s or acoustical consultant’s specifications, providing flexibility for both acoustic performance and interior design integration.
