KINETICS® PA Fiberglass Sound Absorbers are molded fiberglass board absorbers designed to control reflective airborne noise inside equipment enclosures, ducts, generator cabinets, compressor housings, and high-temperature industrial applications across the UAE, GCC, and MENA region.
Kinetics Noise Control Inc. Products
Product Overview
KINETICS® PA Fiberglass Sound Absorbers are rigid molded fiberglass board absorbers designed to provide sound absorption over a broad frequency range. They are especially effective when directly attached to the interior of noisy equipment enclosures, helping control reflected airborne noise in high-temperature industrial and MEP environments.
Board Construction and Installation
Model PA absorbers are supplied as molded 4′ x 8′ / 1.2 m x 2.4 m fiberglass boards in 1″ / 25 mm thickness. The panels can be glued, attached with nails or stick pins, or supported within a framework depending on the enclosure or equipment design. They are available in unfaced and faced versions to suit different project conditions.
PA 410 GO and PA 410 GB Options
PA 410 GO is the unfaced absorber and provides very good absorption at mid and high frequencies. It is suitable where the fiberglass surface will not be exposed to contact damage, dusting concerns, or contamination from foreign objects. PA 410 GB is the faced absorber and provides very good absorption at low and mid frequencies. Its black vinyl-impregnated fiberglass facing helps protect the fiberglass core from damage, moisture absorption, dust, dirt, and oil contamination.
High-Temperature Noise Control Performance
KINETICS® PA Fiberglass Sound Absorbers are well suited for equipment enclosures, generator cabinets, air compressor housings, engine compartments, and sheet metal guards where reflective noise control is required in elevated temperature conditions. PA 410 GO has a maximum temperature limit of 350°F / 177°C, while PA 410 GB can be used in applications up to 450°F / 232°C.
Acoustic and Fire Performance Data
Published sound absorption coefficients for PA 410 GO include NRC 0.70, with octave band absorption values of 0.03 at 125 Hz, 0.22 at 250 Hz, 0.69 at 500 Hz, 0.91 at 1000 Hz, 0.96 at 2000 Hz, and 0.99 at 4000 Hz. PA 410 GB provides NRC 0.62, with values of 0.22 at 125 Hz, 0.56 at 250 Hz, 0.70 at 500 Hz, 0.71 at 1000 Hz, 0.51 at 2000 Hz, and 0.28 at 4000 Hz. The fiberglass core has a K factor per ASTM C-177 of 0.230 and surface burning characteristics per ASTM E-84 including flame spread 15, smoke development 0, and fuel contribution 15. The black vinyl-impregnated fiberglass facing on PA 410 GB is rated UL-84 Class 1.
