PC-10

Kinetics PC-10 is a masonry wall isolation strip designed to resiliently decouple CMU walls from non-isolated building structure. Used in sound-rated masonry wall assemblies, PC-10 helps reduce flanking sound and vibration transfer in acoustic construction projects across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.

Product Description

Masonry Wall Isolation Strip for CMU Acoustic Walls
Kinetics PC-10 is a custom-molded and coated fiberglass board with a galvanized steel channel, engineered to resiliently separate a CMU, or concrete masonry unit, wall from non-isolated structure. It is used where masonry walls must maintain acoustic separation from the surrounding building structure to support the intended performance of sound-rated assemblies.

Reduces Flanking Sound and Vibration Paths
In acoustic wall construction, sound can bypass a rated wall through structural connections, floors, ceilings, and rigid wall supports. Kinetics notes that flanking through a floor/ceiling assembly can reduce STC or IIC ratings by 10 points or more compared with non-flanked sound control construction. PC-10 creates a resilient break to help stop sound or vibration from flanking to the area below the wall.

Designed for Continuous CMU Wall Support
PC-10 is applied continuously along the bottom of a CMU wall wherever acoustical isolation is required. This provides continuous resilient support of the masonry wall while helping maintain a fully effective sound-rated assembly. For proper separation, neoprene tubing, supplied by others, should be used around any reinforcement from non-isolated structure.

Reliable Acoustic Coordination for Masonry Construction
PC-10 is frequently used with other Kinetics sound isolation products in consultant-specified acoustic wall systems. It is designed for loads up to 15 psi, with higher capacities available by contacting the factory. This makes PC-10 suitable for masonry acoustic isolation in commercial buildings, cinemas, studios, hotels, schools, healthcare facilities, infrastructure projects, and other noise-sensitive developments across the UAE and GCC.

Application

  • CMU wall acoustic isolation in sound-rated masonry assemblies
  • Bottom support isolation for concrete masonry unit walls
  • Flanking noise control at masonry wall and floor junctions
  • Acoustic wall construction in cinemas, studios, auditoriums, and performance spaces
  • Hotels, apartments, offices, schools, hospitals, and mixed-use developments
  • Mechanical rooms and plant areas where masonry walls require acoustic separation
  • Non-load-bearing masonry wall details where specified by project design
  • UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA projects requiring masonry sound isolation
  • Use with other Kinetics sound isolation products for complete acoustic wall systems
