KINETICS® Picado is an acoustical wood panel system designed to combine refined wood aesthetics with effective sound absorption. The surface uses MicroPerf pinholes that are small enough to be virtually invisible from a distance, allowing Picado to maintain a clean solid wood appearance while permitting sound energy to pass through to acoustical materials beneath the finish.
Micro-Perforated Acoustic Wood Design
Picado’s acoustic performance begins with a unique core containing more than three hundred holes per square foot. A MicroPerf wood veneer or laminate is applied over the core, changing the surface from reflective to absorptive when absorbers are installed behind it. This makes Picado a strong choice for spaces where reverberation control, acoustic comfort, and a premium wood finish are required together.
Configurations for Walls and Ceilings
KINETICS® Picado can be used on walls or ceilings and is available as field-assembled planks, field-assembled panels, or pre-fabricated Ensemble panels. Planks create a continuous hardwood floor-like appearance and can be field cut and nailed around doors, windows, and architectural features. Panels are hung on Z-clips and can be custom sized to suit the project layout, while Ensemble panels arrive ready to hang with fiberglass and frame included.
Panel Sizes, Patterns & Finish Options
Picado is available in Picado 5 with 0.5 mm diameter micro-perforations for veneers and Picado 9 with 0.9 mm diameter micro-perforations for laminates or veneers. Standard planks are 7-9/16″ wide and typically 8′ to 10′ long. Field-assembled panels are available up to 4′ wide x 8′ long, while pre-fabricated Ensemble panels are available up to 4′ wide and 8′ long, not exceeding 20 sq. ft. per panel. NRC ratings range from 0.70 to 0.95 depending on the configuration.
