Noise Control Ceiling Tiles for Speech Privacy
KINETICS® QuietTile is a sound control ceiling tile treatment designed for spaces where conventional acoustic ceiling tiles do not provide enough noise isolation. It is especially useful when partition walls do not extend to the structural deck, allowing sound to travel through the shared ceiling plenum between rooms. QuietTile helps improve speech privacy and reduce noise intrusion through lay-in ceiling systems.
Composite Ceiling Tile Construction
QuietTile uses additional mass and sound damping to create a composite ceiling tile designed to reduce sound transmission through a standard lay-in ceiling grid. Kinetics bonds a composite viscoelastic damping layer and gypsum board to the back of the acoustic ceiling tile selected by the designer, allowing the visible tile face to coordinate with the project’s interior design requirements.
High CAC Performance for Lay-In Ceiling Systems
QuietTile provides high Ceiling Attenuation Class performance, with CAC ratings of 49–51 listed by Kinetics. This makes it suitable for consultant-led acoustic designs where speech privacy, room-to-room sound control, and ceiling plenum noise reduction are important. Performance can vary depending on the selected finish ceiling tile and project assembly.
Flexible Tile and Grid Compatibility
Designers can select from readily available lay-in acoustic ceiling tiles, including regular or tegular edge ACT, fiberglass ACT, and mineral fiber ACT. QuietTile composite lay-in panels can be designed for 9/16″ narrow reveal grid systems or 15/16″ standard ceiling grid systems, and are available in nominal 24″ x 24″ and 24″ x 48″ sizes.
