Black Ceiling Absorber for Acoustic and Lighting Control
Raven Board is an effective and cost-efficient black acoustic tile designed to improve wall and ceiling acoustic performance. Made from lightweight acoustic fiberglass board, Raven Board helps control unnecessary noise, reduce reflected sound, and support clearer listening, recording, and conversation in treated spaces. Its black finish also helps reduce light reflection, making it suitable for interiors where both acoustic comfort and lighting control are important.
Designed for Ceilings, Walls, and Exposed Interior Spaces
Raven Board can be installed in a ceiling grid, directly to the ceiling, in an upper ceiling area, or on wall surfaces where reverberation and reflected noise are concerns. Its rigid board construction supports practical, low-cost installation, and the panels can be easily cut to size using a utility knife for project-specific coordination.
Acoustic Performance for Reverberation and Reflection Control
Raven Board is used to eliminate unwanted ceiling boundary reflections, reduce slap echo between parallel floor and ceiling surfaces, control excessive room reverberation, and improve the signal-to-noise ratio for listening, recording, and conversation. This makes it a practical acoustic ceiling absorber for home theatres, media rooms, recording studios, broadcast rooms, restaurants, clubs, theatres, performing arts spaces, and commercial interiors.
Technical and Installation Options
Raven Board is Class A Fire Rated and is available in 3# and 6# densities, 1-inch and 2-inch thicknesses, and a maximum board size of 48 x 96 inches. Installation options listed by Kinetics include HS clips with construction adhesive, Z-clips shipped loose as standard, Rotofast snap-on anchors, Rotofast cloud anchors, and the impaling pin method. Sound absorption is tested per ASTM C423 using Type A mounting.
