KINETICS® CWCA and Wallmat Stud Wall Isolation systems help reduce sound flanking by resiliently separating stud walls from floors, ceilings, joists, and subfloors, supporting high-performance acoustic wall construction for residential, hospitality, studio, cinema, and commercial projects across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.

Stud Wall Isolation for Flanking Noise Control
KINETICS® CWCA and Wallmat Stud Wall Isolation systems are designed to stop noise from flanking around noise-isolated ceilings and floors. In sound-rated wall and ceiling assemblies, vibration can bypass the main acoustic treatment through rigid wall connections, framing, subfloors, joists, and ceiling structures. CWCA and Wallmat create resilient separation between the stud wall and the surrounding structure, helping maintain the intended performance of the complete acoustic assembly.
Resilient Separation with Reduced Floor Space
Unlike isolated drywall build-ups or secondary stud wall construction, KINETICS® Stud Wall Isolation requires less floor space while still supporting effective wall decoupling. Kinetics notes that resilient stud wall separation is required even when using double-stud and staggered-stud wall systems, making it an important acoustic detailing component for consultant-led sound isolation design.
CWCA Top-of-Wall Isolation Brackets
KINETICS® CWCA brackets resiliently decouple the top plate of a wood-framed wall from existing floor joists. The bracket strength and rubber isolation components provide structural integrity while allowing wide spacing between brackets. CWCA brackets include an angle bracket, two isolation bushings, and attachment hardware. The first bracket should be installed no more than 16 inches from each corner, then spaced evenly at a maximum of 48 inches on center. A clearance of 1/2 inch to 1-1/2 inches should be allowed between the bottom of the joist and the top of the stud wall.
Wallmat Stud Wall Isolation Strip
KINETICS® Wallmat is a molded fiberglass stud wall isolator that resiliently decouples a sound-rated wall from the non-isolated structure. It is installed continuously along the bottom and top plates of a stud wall wherever acoustic isolation is required, helping reduce flanking and maintain a fully effective sound-rated assembly. KAI anchor isolators keep fasteners decoupled from the framing for an acoustically safe connection.
Suitable for Wood, Steel, and Concrete Deck Conditions
Wallmat can be used with wood and steel stud framing. Wallmat isolation strips are 1/2 inch thick x 48 inches long, available in 3-inch width for 2×4 framing and 5-inch width for 2×6 framing. KAI-W isolation bushings are used for wood studs at 16 inches or 24 inches on center, while KAI-S isolation bushings are used for steel studs at 16 inches or 24 inches on center. Where floors and ceilings are concrete deck, Kinetics recommends Wallmat at both the top and bottom of the stud walls.
