KINETICS® TAD Revealed brings tuned absorption and diffusion into a premium wood or laminate finish, offering consultant-friendly acoustic control for auditoriums, lecture halls, rehearsal rooms, studios, and high-quality interior projects across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.
Kinetics Noise Control Inc. Products
KINETICS® TAD Revealed is part of the Kinetics Acoustical Wood Collection, designed to expose the tuned absorber/diffuser concept of Kinetics TAD Panels in a visually distinctive wood finish. It combines low- and mid-frequency sound absorption with high-frequency diffusion, making it suitable for spaces where acoustic balance, speech intelligibility, and musical spaciousness are important.
Tuned Absorption/Diffusion in Wood
TAD Revealed starts with a natural wood veneer or laminate finish and an acoustically optimized hole pattern. The openings are sized and spaced to improve low- to mid-frequency absorption while creating randomized reflective surfaces between the openings. This variable-impedance design helps blend high-frequency reflections instead of over-absorbing them, supporting a more natural and balanced room sound.
Acoustic Balance for Large and Critical Listening Spaces
Large listening spaces such as auditoriums, lecture halls, and rehearsal rooms often require careful reverberation control. Standard fabric-wrapped fiberglass panels can be effective for mid-frequency absorption, but excessive high-frequency absorption from panels, seating, curtains, carpet, and occupants can make spaces sound flat. TAD Revealed is designed to help maintain acoustic liveliness while controlling lower-frequency reverberation, improving speech clarity and listening comfort.
Configurations and Installation Options
TAD Revealed can be field-installed as panels over nailers and absorbers, or supplied as pre-fabricated Ensemble panels. Field-assembled panels are hung on Z-clips and can be custom sized up to 4′ wide x 8′ long. Ensemble panels are supplied as ready-to-hang units complete with fiberglass and frame, available up to 4′ wide x 8′ long and not exceeding 20 sq. ft. per panel.
Construction, Sizes, and Finish Choices
The panel composition includes an MDF core with wood veneer surface, optional fire-rated MDF core, black acoustical scrim backing, and fiberglass sound absorptive core. Standard sizes include 2′ x 2′, 2′ x 4′, 4′ x 4′, 4′ x 6′, and 4′ x 8′. Wood and finish options include maple, cherry, oak, walnut, birch, mahogany, and custom veneers, with options for MDF, fire-rated NAUF-MDF, NAUF-MDF, FR particleboard, CARB.2, random, book, slip, or sequence matching, plain sliced, quarter, rift, or rotary cuts, clearcoat, laminate, paint, unfinished, bare MDF, stain/painted, edge banding, and trim pieces. FSC® Certification is available upon request.
Acoustic Performance Notes
TAD Revealed is typically used on walls and is listed with NRC 0.70 for wall applications. Data sheet performance includes absorption coefficients tested per ASTM C423, with NRC values of 0.70 for 1″ TAD A Mount, 0.70 for 2″ TAD A Mount, 0.50 for E-400 Mount tested with R11 fiberglass backer, and 1.00 for a typical 2″ panel. For increased low-frequency absorption, a 2″ to 4″ thick fibrous core can be specified.
Natural Wood Considerations
As a wood acoustic product, TAD Revealed may vary in color, grain pattern, appearance, and texture. Wood products are hydroscopic and may shrink or expand with changes in humidity, which should be considered during design, storage, and installation. The product is Made in USA.
