VTLF is a slim 80Hz bass trap and low-frequency acoustic absorber designed to control hard-to-treat bass reflections without over-absorbing mid and high tones. Ideal for home theaters, cinemas, studios, performance rooms, and premium AV spaces across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region, VTLF delivers targeted low-frequency sound treatment in a 2-1/8″ thick panel.

Targeted 80Hz Bass Control
VTLF | 80Hz Bass Trap + Bass Absorber is a low-frequency acoustic treatment panel engineered to address bass energy at 80Hz, the key woofer-to-subwoofer crossover frequency. Unlike a traditional bass trap, VTLF continues to absorb through the woofer frequencies up to 315Hz, then turns off to help preserve the desired mid and high tones in the room.
Slim Low-Frequency Absorber for Performance Rooms
VTLF combines several technologies to create a unique acoustical core that provides bass trap-style performance without the need for heavy materials. At only 2-1/8″ thick, it provides a practical solution for rooms where low-frequency reflections are difficult to manage but wall depth and interior space must be carefully controlled.
Bass Absorption Without Over-Dampening the Room
VTLF is designed to remove hard-to-treat low frequencies while limiting absorption in the higher frequencies. This helps maintain the bright higher tones required in performance spaces, home cinemas, listening rooms, recording environments, and critical AV rooms where balanced acoustic response is important. Kinetics describes VTLF as removing 85% of reflections at 80Hz while limiting high-frequency absorption.
Placement and Acoustic Design Guidance
Low frequencies are physically large; the wavelength for 80Hz is over 14 feet long. Kinetics generally recommends placing low-frequency treatment in room corners where bass energy tends to build up. However, proper bass treatment design depends on room shape and speaker placement, and Kinetics recommends contacting an independent acoustic expert for proper layout.
Fabric and Installation Options
Kinetics maintains a large library of fabric patterns used successfully for decades, including popular acoustic fabrics from Guilford of Maine, Maharam, Designtex, and Carnegie. Permanent installation options include HS Clips with construction adhesive, Rotofast Snap On Anchors, and construction adhesive only. Product resources include Absorption Test, Specification, Data Sheet, LEED Analysis, Room Acoustics Brochure, and Warranty.
