Product Description

Acoustical Ceiling Baffles for Large High-Ceiling Spaces
Wave Baffles provide a cost-effective method for reducing reverberation in larger spaces with high ceilings. Designed for horizontal suspension in a wave-like form at ceiling level, these baffles deliver high levels of sound absorption for large, high cubic volume rooms where reflected noise can affect speech clarity, activity comfort, and overall acoustic quality.

Horizontal Clouds or Vertical Acoustic Banners
Kinetics Wave Baffles can be suspended as horizontal clouds or, as an option, finished on both sides and hung vertically as acoustical banners. This flexibility makes them suitable for gymnasiums, arenas, natatoriums, multipurpose rooms, school sports halls, recreation facilities, auditoriums, and other large public interiors where wall space may be limited or ceiling-level acoustic treatment is preferred.

Two Product Types for Project Requirements
Wave Baffles are available in two types: Type SE with sewn edges using sailcloth or other fabric facing, and Type HB where heat-bonded vinyl encapsulates the fiberglass blanket. Type SE uses sailcloth nylon or Guilford fabric facing on the exposed side and edges, sewn into the fiberglass blanket and woven scrim backer, and provides greater durability. Type HB fully encapsulates the fiberglass blanket with vinyl covering and heat-sealed edges, making it the most economical option; optional perforated vinyl is available to improve high-frequency absorption.

Custom Sizes, Suspension Drop, and Installation Support
Wave Baffles are produced in custom sizes up to 48 inches wide and 30 feet long. Suspension hardware can be engineered to create the required vertical drop between suspension points, with a typical midpoint drop of 6 inches or greater. Kinetics also provides installation options for metal ceilings, gypsum/plaster ceilings, suspended applications, single-span and multi-span layouts, and vertically hung configurations.

Fire and Acoustic Performance Data
All Wave Baffle components meet Class A rating as tested by ASTM E84 or the minimum flame resistance requirements established by the California Fire Marshal per Section 13115 of the California Health and Safety Code. Acoustical performance is tested per ASTM C423-90a in a suspended position similar to typical installation, with absorption data published in sabins per square foot for Type SE, Type HB, and perforated Type HB options.

Application

  • Reverberation control in large spaces with high ceilings
  • Acoustic ceiling treatment for gymnasiums, school sports halls, and fitness facilities
  • Noise reduction in arenas, recreation centers, and multipurpose halls
  • Suspended acoustic baffles for natatoriums and swimming pool areas
  • Ceiling-level acoustic absorption for auditoriums, activity halls, and large public interiors
  • Vertically hung acoustic banner applications where double-sided finish facing is required
  • UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA projects requiring cost-effective ceiling baffle noise control
