Product Description

Continuous Underlayment for Impact Noise Control
ULTRA QUIET SR Floorboard is a high-performance sound-rated floor underlayment designed to substantially reduce impact noise transmission through hard surface floor systems. It is used where footfall, dropped objects, and impact noise may create occupant complaints in spaces below, especially in residential, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use buildings. Kinetics notes that lab ratings of IIC approaching 60 are possible in typical applications, compared with IIC 25 to 34 for conventional construction.

Engineered Floorboard Construction
ULTRA QUIET SR Floorboard is a 1 inch / 25 mm thick composite made from high-density molded glass fibers separated by a rigid phenolic-treated honeycomb core. This construction combines resilience and sound absorption in a single continuous layer, helping improve both impact noise control and airborne sound performance through the floor assembly.

Designed for Hard Surface Flooring Applications
Hard surface finishes such as ceramic tile, quarry tile, marble, hardwood flooring, engineered flooring, and vinyl tile can transmit impact noise clearly into occupied spaces below when they are installed without proper acoustic isolation. ULTRA QUIET SR is used where typical 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch sound control mats may not provide the required noise reduction. It can be installed over wood frame or concrete structural floors with reinforced mortar bed, gypsum concrete, or poured concrete slab assemblies.

Project and Installation Value
For consultants, contractors, acoustic specialists, and developers in the UAE, GCC, and MENA region, ULTRA QUIET SR provides a practical floor acoustic solution for improving occupant comfort in buildings with hard floor finishes. The system is lightweight, easy to handle, cuts with a standard construction knife, and is approved for use with gypsum concrete, standard concrete, and built-up wood floors. Kinetics also lists the board size as 4 feet x 8 feet, 1 inch thick, with a nominal weight of 12 lbs per sheet.

Installation Considerations
Kinetics installation guidance notes that the subfloor should be clean, flat, level, dry, rigid, and properly prepared. ULTRA QUIET SR Floorboard should not be used to bridge spans or low areas, should not be fastened with nails, screws, or staples, and should be installed with appropriate perimeter isolation and resilient sealant detailing to maintain acoustic separation.
