FLM Lift Slab Floor Mount is an acoustic isolated concrete floor system designed for projects where heavy construction loads may need to move across the slab before it is lifted into its final isolated position. It is a practical solution for consultants, contractors, and acoustic engineers working on high-performance floor noise and vibration control projects across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.

Lift Slab Floor Isolation for Demanding Acoustic Projects
FLM Lift Slab Floor Mount is a Kinetics acoustic floor isolation system used to create an isolated concrete slab above a structural floor. The system is designed for construction sequences where exceedingly heavy loads may need to move across a slab before it has been “jacked-up” into its isolated position. Where that construction requirement is not present, Kinetics notes that RIM or FIC may offer faster construction by eliminating the FLM lift sequence.
Engineered Isolated Slab Assembly
The FLM system uses castings with isolators positioned according to engineered shop drawings. The slab is poured, cured, and then lifted by driving the leveling screws in sequence until the isolated floor is raised. This creates the required airspace beneath the slab and helps reduce sound and vibration transfer between the isolated floor and the non-isolated building structure.
Components and System Configuration
FLM components include cast iron housing, leveling screw, and resilient decoupler with load plate. The system is offered with various load capacities using either fiberglass or neoprene isolators, is adaptable to a wide range of airspaces, and is based on 4-inch thick slabs as standard, with adapters available for thicker concrete slabs.
Installation and Design Coordination
FLM installation includes resilient interface treatment at perimeters and penetrations, bond breaker poly sheeting across the floor, positioning of castings with isolators, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, curing, lifting with leveling screws, trimming of the perimeter bond breaker, removal of the PPI tear strip, and sealant application at the gap. Kinetics shop drawings include live and dead load coordination, a dimensioned isolator layout, additional isolators for heavy loads, and project-specific and general installation guidance for contractors.
Acoustic Testing and Project Documentation
Kinetics lists STC/IIC sound test data for FLM-related assemblies, including a 6-inch concrete slab, 4-inch reinforced concrete slab with FLM isolator and KIP fiberglass isolation pad with 2-inch airspace over a 6-inch structural slab, and 4-inch reinforced concrete slab assemblies with neoprene isolation pads and 2-inch or 4-inch airspaces over a 6-inch structural slab. Submittal resources also include drawings, data sheet, specifications, LEED documentation, SDS, and warranty information.
