Kinetics Model SHAB and SHAA Light Duty Spring Hangers are spring and neoprene vibration isolation hangers designed for suspended HVAC, piping, ductwork, and light mechanical equipment. Suitable for UAE, GCC, and MENA building projects, they help reduce structure-borne vibration in light-duty MEP applications.
Kinetics Noise Control Inc. Products
Kinetics Model SHAA and SHAB Spring Hangers are light-duty vibration isolation hangers designed for suspended equipment and services where both low-frequency and high-frequency vibration control are required. Each hanger combines a freestanding, laterally stable steel spring with a molded elastomeric element inside a stamped and welded steel hanger bracket.
The SHAA and SHAB hanger assemblies are commonly used for fan coil boxes, light-duty fans, piping, and ductwork in commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, offices, and other MEP installations. By isolating vibration at the suspension point, the hangers help reduce the transmission of structure-borne noise and vibration into the building structure.
The SHAA model provides 1″ / 25 mm spring deflection, while the SHAB model provides 0.5″ / 13 mm spring deflection. The hangers are available for light point load applications, with color-coded spring elements to support correct selection and identification on site. The molded neoprene bottom cap holds the spring in place, helps prevent vibration short-circuiting caused by rod misalignment, and assists in isolating high-frequency vibration such as fan blade passage noise.
For HVAC contractors, MEP consultants, acoustic consultants, and project developers across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region, SHAA and SHAB Light Duty Spring Hangers provide a reliable solution for vibration isolation of lightweight suspended mechanical services where acoustic comfort and building performance are important.
Vibration isolators for suspended equipment with minimum static deflection requirement exceeding 0.3″ (7.5 mm), and where both high and low frequency vibrations are to be isolated, shall be hangers consisting of a laterally stable spring in series with an elastomer spring bottom cap and assembled in a stamped and welded steel bracket.
The stamped and welded bracket shall be finished with an electro- zinc plating. The elastomer insert shall be molded from oilresistant compounds and shall be selected to operate within its published load range.
The spring element shall have a minimum lateral stiffness of 1.0 times the rated vertical stiffness.
Springs shall be color coded or otherwise identified to indicate load capacity.
The hanger bracket shall be designed to carry a 500% overload without failure and to allow a support rod misalignment through a 30° arc without metal-to-metal contact or other short circuit.
Isolation hangers shall be selected by the manufacturer for each specific application to comply with deflection requirements as shown on the Vibration Isolation Schedule or as indicated on the project documents.
The combination isolation hanger assembly with neoprene insert shall be Model SHAA or SHAB, as manufactured by Kinetics Noise Control, Inc.
