Structural Engineer – Steel Structures & Noise Control Solutions

Job Overview

Kinetics Group is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to design and analyse steel structures for acoustic louvers, noise barriers, acoustic enclosures, and other specialised noise control systems. This role is essential to ensuring that structural solutions are safe, practical, cost-effective, and fully compliant with applicable engineering standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, estimation, production, procurement, and project teams to translate technical requirements into fabrication- and installation-ready designs. The position offers exposure to diverse engineering projects across the UAE and wider MENA region, along with opportunities to strengthen expertise in structural steel design, wind load analysis, anchorage systems, and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse structural steel frames, columns, support systems, connections, and anchorage arrangements for acoustic and noise control projects.
  • Perform wind load assessments and prepare engineering calculations in accordance with ASCE 7 and other applicable design codes.
  • Develop safe, practical, and cost-efficient structural solutions based on project specifications, site conditions, and installation requirements.
  • Review architectural, structural, mechanical, and project drawings to identify design constraints and coordination requirements.
  • Prepare structural calculation reports, technical submissions, design documentation, and supporting information for consultant and client approvals.
  • Produce and review engineering details to support fabrication, procurement, and site installation activities.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, estimation, production, procurement, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
  • Evaluate existing site conditions and provide engineering recommendations for structural supports and installation methods.
  • Resolve structural and technical issues arising during production or site execution.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering codes, quality requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Support design optimisation initiatives to improve material efficiency, fabrication practicality, and project performance.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, calculations, revisions, and approval documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in structural engineering or structural steel design.
  • Demonstrated experience in structural analysis, engineering calculations, and wind load design for steel structures.
  • Practical knowledge of applicable structural design codes and engineering standards.
  • Experience preparing technical calculation reports and consultant approval submissions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel design, framing systems, connections, base plates, anchors, and support structures.
  • Proficiency in wind load analysis and structural calculations in accordance with ASCE 7.
  • Competence in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, or an equivalent platform.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the interpretation of structural, architectural, and engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of fabrication processes, installation requirements, and structural constructability.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professionally presented engineering reports.
  • Familiarity with material specifications, structural detailing, and engineering documentation.

  • Previous involvement in projects within the UAE, GCC, or MENA region.
  • Familiarity with consultant review processes and technical approval requirements.
  • Experience supporting fabrication, production, and site installation teams.
  • Knowledge of additional international structural steel design standards.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, construction, engineering consultancy, or specialised building-products environment.
