FLS-2″ Vertically Restrained Spring Isolators

Kinetics FLS-2″ Vertically Restrained Spring Isolators are engineered spring vibration isolation mounts designed to control noise and vibration from mechanical equipment subject to load variations, fluid drainage, moderate external forces, or wind loads. They are suitable for HVAC, MEP, and mechanical plant applications across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.

Product Description

Kinetics Model FLS-2″ Vertically Restrained Spring Isolators are heavy-duty vibration isolation mounts consisting of freestanding, large-diameter, laterally stable steel springs assembled within welded steel housing assemblies. The restrained housing design limits vertical movement of supported equipment when operating loads are reduced, when fluid loads are drained, or when equipment is exposed to large vertical external or torquing forces.

The FLS-2″ isolator is designed to provide a constant free and operating height, helping contractors and MEP teams achieve accurate equipment installation, levelling, and alignment. The spring elements include internal noise isolation pads and an adjusting and levelling bolt as part of the top load plate assembly. Mounting holes are provided for bolting the isolator to the supporting structure and to the supported equipment, with the option for welding to the structure where required by project conditions.

FLS-2″ Vertically Restrained Spring Isolators are recommended for vibration-producing mechanical equipment carrying large fluid loads, such as chillers and boilers, as well as outdoor HVAC equipment including cooling towers and air-cooled condensers where wind loads are minimal. With operating static deflections available up to 2″, these isolators are suitable for long-span flexible floor structures and projects requiring a high degree of noise and vibration isolation.

For consultants, contractors, MEP engineers, and acoustic specialists across the UAE, GCC, and wider MENA region, the FLS-2″ spring isolator provides a reliable solution for reducing structure-borne vibration, supporting acoustic comfort, and improving mechanical equipment stability in commercial, healthcare, hospitality, education, industrial, data center, infrastructure, and district cooling applications.

Vibration isolators for equipment which are subject to load variations and large external or torquing forces shall consist of large diameter, laterally stable steel springs assembled into welded steel housing assemblies designed to limit vertical movement of the supported equipment.

Housing assembly shall be of fabricated steel members and shall consist of a top load plate complete with adjusting and levelling bolts, vertical restraints, isolation washers and a bottom plate with internal non-skid noise isolation pads and holes provided for anchoring to supporting structure. Housing shall be hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance. Housing should be designed to provide a constant free and operating height within 1/8″ (0.06 mm).

Spring elements shall have a lateral stiffness greater than 1.0 times the rated vertical stiffness and shall be designed to provide a minimum of 50% overload capacity.

Springs shall be selected to provide static deflections shown on the Vibration Isolation Schedule or as indicated on the project documents. Springs shall be color coded or otherwise identified to indicate load capacity. Vibration isolators shall be Model FLS, as manufactured by Kinetics Noise Control, Inc.
