KINAIR Ecology Units (ECU Series)

Kinetics KINAIR Ecology Units (ECU Series) are advanced kitchen exhaust filtration systems designed to remove grease, smoke, particulates, and odors from commercial and industrial kitchen exhaust air. With airflow capacities from 500 CFM to 30,000 CFM, multi-stage filtration, ESP technology, activated carbon options, and robust double-skin construction, the ECU Series supports cleaner, safer, and more sustainable kitchen ventilation across the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.

Product Description

Advanced Kitchen Exhaust Filtration for Commercial Kitchens
Kinetics KINAIR Ecology Units (ECU Series) are engineered for commercial kitchen exhaust systems where heat, grease aerosols, smoke, water vapor, particulates, and odors must be effectively treated before discharge. Kitchen exhaust improves indoor air quality, but untreated exhaust can create outdoor challenges due to odor and particulate emissions affecting surrounding buildings and neighboring facilities. The ECU Series provides a tailored exhaust filtration solution for restaurants, hotels, food courts, central kitchens, cloud kitchens, cafeterias, and mixed-use developments.

Multi-Stage Filtration for Grease, Smoke, and Odor Control
The ECU Series uses a combination of Electrostatic Precipitators, pre-filters, fine filters, optional EPA filters, and gas phase filters. ESP sections remove grease and smoke particles by charging them in the ionizing section and collecting them on grounded plates. Coarse and fine particulates are treated through pre- and fine-filters, while odors and volatile organic compounds are handled through activated carbon and other gas-phase filtration media. The Kinetics product page also describes the system as an advanced kitchen exhaust filtration unit with ESP, G4 pre-filters, F7 fine filters, and optional activated carbon or EPA filters.

Tailored Configuration for Different Cooking Loads
The amount and type of contaminants in kitchen exhaust depend on the cooking process. For this reason, KINAIR Ecology Units can be configured with different filtration stages according to the particulate load, cooking style, odor intensity, airflow, and maintenance requirements. Applications such as Asian cooking, steakhouses, bakeries, food courts, dark kitchens, supermarkets, and high-volume restaurant kitchens can require different combinations of grease, smoke, and odor control.

Durable Construction and System Specification
KINAIR ECU Series units are built with double-skin construction using extruded aluminum profiles. The unit uses GI sheets with minimum 0.8 mm thickness for inner and outer panels, PUF or rockwool insulation with 2-inch insulation thickness, hinged or removable access doors, and a 30/50/100 mm GI base frame with 2 mm thickness. The airflow range is 500–30,000 CFM, with multi-stage filtration combinations such as ESP + Pre-filter G4 + Fine Filter F7 + Carbon, depending on project requirements.

Fan, Motor, Fire Safety, and Acoustic Options
The exhaust fan section can include SISW or DIDW centrifugal blower assemblies made from heavy gauge steel. Fan options include standard, 400°C/2hr, or UL listed configurations, and the catalogue notes fan ratings for sound and air volume. Motors are TEFC, foot-mounted, continuous duty, IP55 protected, and Class F insulated, with IE2 motors supplied as standard and IE3 or Class H motors available on request. Additional system components include UL listed fire dampers, ozone generator or odor neutralizer options, and KINETICS sound attenuators designed for low-frequency acoustic performance.
