Product Description

KINETICS® TAD Tuned Absorber/Diffuser Panels combine engineered acoustics with a choice of fabric or vinyl coverings, providing a refined solution for spaces where balanced sound absorption and high-frequency diffusion are required. The TAD Panel is suitable for interior environments that need reverberation control, sound clarity, and a more natural acoustic response without relying only on conventional absorption panels.

Tuned Acoustic Absorption & Diffusion
TAD Panels are designed for areas where low- and mid-frequency absorption is desired together with increased reflectivity and diffusion at higher frequencies. Their acoustical performance comes from a sound absorptive fibrous core covered with a variable impedance laminate. Openings in the laminate are sized and spaced to optimize lower-frequency absorption while creating random mid- and high-frequency reflective surfaces between the openings.

Variable Impedance Panel Design
A design program is used to acoustically optimize the hole pattern in the laminate while maintaining the required balance between open and reflective surface area. This allows KINETICS® TAD Panels to support more controlled room acoustics in applications where speech clarity, listening comfort, and balanced sound energy are important.

Size, Thickness & Edge Options
TAD Panels are available in standard sizes in 2-foot increments up to 4 ft. x 10 ft., with other custom sizes available. Standard thicknesses include 1-1/8″, 2-1/8″, 3-1/8″, and 4-1/8″. Edge treatment options include square, bevel, radius, and pencil edges, helping architects, acoustic consultants, and contractors coordinate the panel finish with the interior design.

Tuning Options for Project Requirements
For increased low-frequency sound absorption, a thicker fibrous core from 2″ to 4″ can be specified. For increased high-frequency absorption, the opening size can be changed to 5/8″ diameter instead of the standard 1/2″ opening. This makes TAD Panels a practical acoustic treatment option for consultant-led projects requiring more precise acoustic balancing.

Finish, Installation & Graphic Options
KINETICS® TAD Panels are available with fabric or vinyl coverings. Installation options include permanent methods such as HS clips with construction adhesive, Rotofast snap-on anchors, and construction adhesive only, as well as removable options such as Z-clips and Velcro. Field modification options include field cut and rewrap, including inside corner field cut and rewrap. The AcoustiGraphix option allows a picture, logo, trademark, or artwork to be displayed while helping control noise and reverberation.
