Product Description

KINETICS® Model CIB-H inertia base frames are specifically designed and engineered to receive poured concrete and support mechanical equipment that requires a reinforced concrete inertia base. When filled with concrete and supported by proper KINETICS® noise and vibration isolators, the Model CIB-H provides outstanding equipment isolation, support, anchorage, and vibration amplitude control for demanding mechanical and HVAC applications.

The Model CIB-H inertia base frame incorporates welded structural steel channel perimeter frames in the sizes and depths specified for the project. The assembly also includes steel isolator brackets, welded-in steel reinforcing rods, and equipment anchor bolts where required. Standard Model CIB-H inertia base frames are available in 6 in. (152 mm), 8 in. (203 mm), 10 in. (254 mm), and 12 in. (305 mm) thicknesses, and include height-saving isolator mounting brackets for use with high-deflection springs.

Standard reinforcing rods are 1/2 in. (13 mm) diameter and are located on 8 in. (203 mm) centers each way. Optional pre-located equipment anchor bolts are fixed into the proper location to support accurate equipment placement and coordinated installation. The frame arrives at the job site completely assembled and ready to fill with concrete, helping reduce installation time and job-site labor for contractors and MEP installation teams.

Inertia bases are used to support mechanical equipment, reduce vibration amplitude, provide attachment points for vibration isolators, prevent differential movement between driving and driven members, reduce rocking by lowering the equipment center of gravity, reduce equipment motion during start-up and shut-down, reduce reaction movement caused by operating loads, and act as a partial noise barrier.

Typically, KINETICS® Model CIB-H inertia base frames are used with poured concrete and supported by KINETICS® noise and vibration isolators for reciprocating air and refrigeration compressors, chillers, heat pumps, close-coupled pumps, base-mounted pumps, centrifugal fans, internal combustion engines, and similar equipment. CIB-H inertia base frames are specified for projects requiring base sizes not covered by CIB-L inertia base frames, making them suitable for larger or more project-specific mechanical equipment installations.

Installation support is available for CIB inertia base installation with FHS isolators and FDS isolators. Available download options include Datasheet PDF, Installation Guide, Technical Manual, CAD Drawings, and Test Reports.
