Product Description

Kinetics Model SFB Welded Structural Frame Bases are individually engineered to support and add rigidity to specific mechanical equipment while allowing the use of selected Kinetics vibration isolators. These structural frame bases provide a rigid platform for equipment support, isolator attachment, and motion control where a supplemental mounting frame is required.

Structural frame bases are used to support mechanical equipment and provide rigid platforms for the attachment of vibration isolators, without allowing excessive differential movement between driving and driven members. By stabilizing the equipment and helping lower the equipment center of gravity, the Model SFB assists in reducing motion during operation and start-up while helping maintain belt or drive alignment.

The Model SFB is fabricated using welded structural steel members such as channels, angles, WF beams, and I-beams. Frame sizes and shapes are engineered as required for the supported equipment and project conditions. The base is complete with outboard height-saving isolator brackets and prelocated equipment anchor bolt holes to support accurate installation, coordinated equipment positioning, and efficient integration with vibration isolation systems.

Standard section depths are available from 3 in. through 12 in. approximately 75 mm through 305 mm. Main steel members are designed with section depths of 3 in. to 12 in. 76 mm to 305 mm, with the section depth designed to be a minimum of 10% of the longest span between isolators. Isolator support brackets are welded to the structural beams as required to obtain the lowest mounting height for the supported equipment. Lateral cross members are added to form a structurally integral, welded frame that provides a rigid, distortion-free base for supporting and anchoring separate equipment components or driving and driven members.

Typical uses of Kinetics Model SFB Structural Frame Bases, when used with Kinetics vibration isolators, include support and isolation of reciprocating chillers, close-coupled pumps, vent sets, packaged air handling units, centrifugal fans, evaporative condensers, and similar mechanical equipment. The Model SFB is well suited for mechanical rooms, HVAC plant areas, pump rooms, fan rooms, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, schools, data centers, and infrastructure projects requiring reliable equipment support and vibration isolation coordination.
