Kinetics Model SH spring vibration isolation hangers reduce structure-borne noise and low-frequency vibration from suspended HVAC equipment, in-line fans, exhaust fans, ductwork and piping.
Available with 1-inch, 2-inch and 4-inch static-deflection options, SH hangers combine a high-deflection, colour-coded steel spring with a noise-isolation pad inside a steel hanger bracket. Kinetics Group provides product selection, technical submittals and project support for consultants and contractors across the UAE, GCC, Middle East and MENA region.
Engineered for Performance.
What Is an SH Spring Vibration Isolation Hanger?
Kinetics Model SH is a high-deflection spring hanger designed to reduce the transmission of vibration and noise from suspended mechanical equipment and building services into the supporting structure.
The hanger incorporates a colour-coded steel spring, a noise-isolation pad and a stamped or welded steel bracket. Applicable 1-inch and 2-inch models also incorporate the Kinetics No-Short self-centring spring cap, which helps keep the suspension rod and washer centred while reducing the risk of metal-to-metal contact.
The spring element has lateral stiffness equal to at least 1.0 times its rated vertical stiffness for improved stability. The hanger assembly accommodates support-rod misalignment through a 30-degree arc without short-circuiting the isolation system.
SH spring hangers are particularly suitable for low-speed suspended mechanical equipment and installations located close to noise-sensitive or vibration-sensitive spaces.

Built for Suspended Mechanical Services
Kinetics SH hangers use a free-standing, laterally stable steel spring housed within a stamped or welded steel hanger bracket. Each hanger also incorporates a noise isolation pad, load transfer components, and a patented self-centering “No-Short” spring cap to help maintain isolation performance.
The SH product range covers multiple hanger configurations, including SH-1, SH-2, and SH-4 models. Therefore, consultants and contractors can select hangers based on project load, deflection, and installation requirements rather than limiting the specification to a single SH-1 model.
Spring Isolation for Low-Frequency Vibration
The SH Spring Vibration Isolation Hanger is designed for suspended sources of low-frequency vibration located near vibration-sensitive areas. The high-deflection, colour-coded steel spring element helps isolate mechanical vibration before it transfers through rods, brackets, ceilings, or structural connections.
Because of this spring-based design, SH hangers suit low-speed mechanical equipment and suspended services that may otherwise transmit vibration into occupied spaces. They are commonly used for in-line fans, cabinet fans, ductwork, and piping installed close to vibration-generating equipment.
Stable Design for HVAC and MEP Installations
Each SH hanger supports stable vertical isolation and allows controlled movement during operation. The spring element has minimum lateral stiffness equal to its rated vertical stiffness. As a result, the hanger can allow support rod misalignment through a 30° arc without metal-to-metal contact or isolation short-circuiting.
The hanger bracket assembly is designed to carry up to 500% overload without failure. In addition, the springs provide a minimum of 50% overload capacity and include additional travel to solid equal to at least 50% of the rated deflection. These design features help support reliable performance in mechanical rooms, plant areas, commercial buildings, and infrastructure projects.
Durable Construction and Corrosion Protection
SH Spring Vibration Isolation Hangers include a polyester powder-coated bracket and spring coil. The bracket finish has independent laboratory testing showing a minimum of 1,000 hours of salt spray fog exposure per ASTM B117 without signs of corrosion.
The springs are manufactured from high-strength spring steel and are square and ground at the ends for stability. They are also colour coded or otherwise identified to indicate load capacity, which helps simplify hanger selection and coordination during MEP installation.
Installation and Preloaded SPH Option
Standard SH hangers are shipped fully assembled and ready for use in threaded metal rod suspension systems. Kinetics also offers accessories for adapting SH hangers to wire or strap suspension systems where required by the project.
For applications where piping must be set at a fixed elevation, SH hangers can be supplied preloaded under the Kinetics SPH designation. This option helps contractors simplify installation while maintaining the required isolation design.
Specification Support
SH Spring Vibration Isolation Hangers are referenced under Division 23 HVAC, Section 230548: Vibration Isolation, and classified as ASHRAE Type 3 isolators. They are suitable for suspended equipment with minimum static deflection requirements exceeding 0.4 in. / 10 mm.
The SH range is available in a wide range of load capacities and static deflections, from approximately 1 in. to 4 in. This makes it suitable for consultant-led vibration isolation specifications across HVAC, MEP, acoustic, and building services projects in the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region.
Vibration isolation hangers shall be Model SH, as manufactured by Kinetics Noise Control, Inc.
Install each SH hanger at the location shown on the approved mechanical and vibration-isolation drawings. Confirm that the model number and colour-coded spring correspond to the calculated operating load at that support.
Keep the threaded suspension rod and washer centred within the spring-cap or load-transfer assembly. The rod, washer and hanger bracket must not create unintended metal-to-metal contact that bypasses the isolation spring.
Load the hangers gradually and confirm that each spring achieves the specified operating deflection after the complete equipment, piping, ductwork, insulation and operating contents have been installed.
Flexible equipment connections must not restrain the suspended assembly. Final installation must comply with the approved Kinetics submittal drawing, installation instructions and project vibration-isolation schedule.
