Kinetics Models SHAA and SHAB are light-duty spring vibration isolation hangers designed to reduce structure-borne vibration from fan coil units, light-duty fans, piping and ductwork.
Each hanger combines a free-standing, laterally stable steel spring with a moulded neoprene bottom cap inside a zinc-plated steel bracket. The neoprene element holds the spring securely, helps prevent vibration short-circuiting caused by rod misalignment and provides additional isolation from higher-frequency fan and motor noise.
Model SHAA provides 1″ / 25 mm static deflection at rated loads from 17 to 71 lb / 8 to 32 kg. Model SHAB provides 0.5″ / 13 mm static deflection at rated loads from 15 to 70 lb / 7 to 32 kg.
The colour-coded springs simplify capacity identification, while the hanger bracket is designed to withstand a 500% overload without failure. SHAA and SHAB hangers are supplied fully assembled for threaded suspension rods up to 3/8″ / 10 mm in diameter.

Spring and Neoprene Isolation Design
Model SHAA and SHAB hangers consist of free-standing, laterally stable steel springs installed in series with a moulded elastomeric element. This assembly is housed within a stamped and welded steel hanger bracket.
The spring element helps isolate low-frequency vibration. Meanwhile, the moulded neoprene rubber bottom cap helps control high-frequency vibration, including vibration associated with fan blade passage noise. In addition, the bottom cap holds the spring in place and helps protect the system against short-circuiting caused by rod misalignment.
Stable Construction for Suspended Systems
The steel spring element has minimum lateral stiffness equal to 1.0 times the rated vertical stiffness. Therefore, SHAA and SHAB hangers help maintain stable isolation performance under suitable operating loads.
The hanger brackets are zinc plated and include colour-coded spring elements for load identification. The bracket design carries up to 500% overload without failure, supporting dependable use in light-duty suspended HVAC and building services applications.

For best performance, the spring must be adequately loaded to achieve the desired natural frequency. Therefore, the manufacturer should select the isolation hanger for each specific application based on the project vibration isolation schedule or engineering documents.
Installation and Specification Support
SHAA and SHAB Light-Duty Spring Vibration Isolation Hangers are shipped completely assembled. They are designed for use with threaded rod through 3/8 in. / 10 mm in diameter.
The product specification applies to vibration isolators for suspended equipment with minimum static deflection requirements exceeding 0.3 in. / 7.5 mm, where both high- and low-frequency vibration isolation are required.
