SHU-1″ & 2″ Spring Isolators

Kinetics Model SHU suspended spring vibration isolators are engineered for threaded suspension rods and trapeze-type support systems carrying mechanical equipment, piping and HVAC ductwork. Available in 1″ and 2″ nominal spring series, SHU isolators help reduce the transmission of low-frequency vibration from in-line fans, cabinet fans and nearby mechanical services into the building structure. Each assembly combines a colour-coded steel spring with steel-reinforced neoprene load caps to interrupt direct metal-to-metal contact. Kinetics Group supports consultants, HVAC contractors and MEP project teams with SHU isolator selection and technical documentation for projects across the UAE, GCC and wider MENA region.

Product Description

Kinetics Model SHU Spring Isolators provide effective vibration isolation for suspension rod and trapeze-type support systems used with mechanical equipment, piping, and ductwork. The isolator is designed to be incorporated into threaded suspension rods, helping to isolate suspended sources of low-frequency vibration from the supporting building structure.

Each SHU spring isolator includes a steel spring with steel-reinforced molded neoprene top and bottom load caps. This configuration provides a break in metal-to-metal contact between the supporting and supported members, helping to reduce structure-borne vibration transmission through the suspension system. The spring element is color-coded for capacity selection and is designed to provide high horizontal stability and overload capacity as stated in the product specification.

Model SHU Spring Isolators are typically used below trapeze or platform support systems for in-line fans, cabinet fans, piping, and ductwork located near mechanical equipment. They are suitable for non-critical HVAC and MEP applications where suspended vibration isolation is required without the need for a full spring hanger enclosure.

For contractors, consultants, acoustic engineers, and MEP designers in the UAE, GCC, Middle East, and MENA region, SHU Spring Isolators offer a practical solution for improving vibration control in suspended building services installations. Rated static deflections range from 0.55″ to 1.79″ / 14 mm to 45 mm, depending on the selected model and load capacity, as stated on the product page.

Model SHU Spring Isolators shall include a steel spring vibration isolator and shall include molded neoprene and steel load caps to break metal-tometal contact between supporting and supported members. The spring element shall be color coded for capacity and shall be polyester powder coated, and shall have a 1000 hr rating when tested in accordance with ASTM B-117.

Model SHU spring isolators, used in suspension systems including trapeze supports for mechanical equipment, shall be incorporated into suspension rods in a manner that allows no metal-to-metal contact between suspension rods and suspended equipment. Spring isolators shall be Model SHU as manufactured by Kinetics Noise Control.
