RHEC-AD Neoprene Vibration Isolation Element

Kinetics Model RHEC-AD is a neoprene vibration isolation element with an integral mild-steel load cap. It is designed for installation at a threaded-rod support point beneath an equipment bracket, creating a resilient separation between suspended equipment and its supporting connection.

The RHEC-AD element is manufactured from Grade-B neoprene and is available in four colour-coded load capacities. Every model provides a rated static deflection of 0.30 in. / 7.6 mm when correctly selected and loaded.

Its compact construction makes the RHEC-AD suitable for suspended light mechanical and HVAC equipment where the approved support detail requires an individual neoprene isolation element rather than a complete enclosed hanger assembly.

How the RHEC-AD Element Is Installed

The RHEC-AD element is installed below the supported equipment bracket. The threaded rod passes through the central opening, with the neoprene body positioned against the bracket and the mild-steel load cap transferring the load to the lower fixing hardware.

The resilient neoprene element separates the equipment bracket from the lower metal connection, helping interrupt the direct path through which mechanical vibration can enter the threaded-rod support system.

Installation must maintain the intended resilient separation. The rod, bracket, washers, nuts or adjacent components must not create unintended metal-to-metal contact that bypasses the neoprene element.

Selection Requirements

Select the RHEC-AD model according to the actual operating load carried by each individual isolation point.

Do not divide the total equipment weight equally unless its centre of gravity and weight distribution confirm equal loading. Motors, coils, fans, valves, controls and connected services can create unequal loads at different support locations.

Use the following procedure:

  1. Confirm the equipment operating weight.
  2. Confirm the number and position of support points.
  3. Determine the actual load at each support point.
  4. Select the applicable RHEC-AD colour and rated load.
  5. Confirm that the support rod does not exceed 0.41 in. / 10.4 mm in diameter.
  6. Verify the selection against the approved vibration-isolation schedule and coordinated support drawing.

The selected element must operate within its published rated capacity. An incorrectly loaded element may not achieve the intended static deflection or vibration-control performance.

RHEC-AD Element Versus Complete RH Hanger

RHEC-AD is an individual neoprene element with a load cap. It is not the complete stamped or welded hanger-bracket assembly.

Before installation:
